I chose Maurice Binder, whose motion graphic genre was film. He was a famous movie title designer. He became well-known for his famous opening sequence in the James Bond saga.

I think his work is interesting and very recognizable. In his titles he uses actual movie scenes by placing them into different shapes (masking technique).

My critique would be on the title he made for a movie The Grass is Greener. Unfortunately I didn’t see the movie itself, but the title is so cute that it makes me want to see a movie.

1. Structures and Composition

There is a good usage of space and spacing images and text.

2. Image and Image Type

Super cute images. Simple visible type witch moves kind of together with image.

3. Symbols and Symbol types

I think symbolic are things used by kids, which represent every movie character.

4. Time

Image change and text synchronized perfectly.

5. Sound

Music flows nicely and enhances the filing of the scene.

6. Intent

Title puts us in a happy mood, since we are getting ready to watch a comedy. It introduces us to mane characters in the images of children. Great ideas!

The author is giving us ideas on how to choose a right type. It is important to read the text before designing the type and layout for it. Every type has its own voice, so be careful what text you are paring it with.  Play with text size and you might come up with something very interesting.  Be careful with stretching, increasing or decreasing the tracking too much, because it might turn out eagle and unreadable. Typography can have a very strong statement. To bring a funk to some projects might be a great idea.
